I’ve been reading the book “The Slight Edge” by Jeff Olson. It is an incredible book. Go get a copy and read it! This is my own saying I’ve come up with that sums up what I’ve read so far: “Everything works out in time it’s what you do everyday in the meantime that determines how they’ll work out.” No matter what it is you’re struggling with, be it financial frustration, health habits, child concerns, or business blocks, everything is going to work out one way or the other. Either you’ll gain financial freedom or you won’t, you’ll get healing through health or you won’t, you’ll go crazy trying to control your child, or you’ll learn to let go and find peace and comfort in their agency instead, you’ll find great success in building your business or you’ll fail miserably at it. It’s all up to you what you do right now and each and every day from now, that will set the course of and determine that outcome. You may not see the results immediately but overtime all the little things we continually do in the meantime add up and make a huge difference in time.
Will drinking one green smoothie give you better overall health and wellness and heal you from disease? No. But will drinking one a day for the next 30 days make a big difference in your overall health and wellness and begin some healing? Yes. And will doing it every day for the next 30 days make even more of a difference? Yes. Will saving $10 dollars today free you from financial burdens? No. But will saving $10 a day for the next year and the next and so on begin to add up and make a difference financially? Yes. Will making one new contact today build your client list to record highs? No. But will making one new contact during your day for the next several months help increase the potential you have of getting record high client lists? Yes. Will saying one nice thing to your stubborn teenager miraculously change the way he thinks and responds to you from now on? No. But saying nice things to him every day for as long as he continues to live in your home and beyond will have an effect. And eventually a miracle will occur when he comes to you and says: “Thanks Mom, for all you taught me and for everything you did for me. I love you.”
So start now, no matter where you’re at, it’s never too late to start any journey towards joy and wholeness. Determine what one simple thing you will do today and each day that will start you on your path and keep you moving. Just keep at it and in time I promise you will see results. There may be times when it seems you will never reach your goal, that the road keeps getting longer and it becomes harder and harder to keep putting one foot in front of the other and you just want to stop. But if you don’t stop, someday you’ll look up and realize that you’re where you want to be and that everything worked out. Once you’re there, take in a deep breath of joy and gratitude and then keep doing what you’ve been doing because you’ve got to keep doing it to keep the results coming. Then find another simple thing to add and start doing that consistenly because there is so much more waiting for you in your journey.
